With Art being the true cradle kind of where the NFT as an industry was born and proved viable financially and technologically (hence this successful and booming) – came in with news again.
And what an impressive PR stunt by one of Art NFT earliest adopted Damien Hirst artist that was!
The artist told buyers who bought pieces from his newest collection to pick either the physical artwork or the NFT showcasing it.
Those who chose the NFTs were told their corresponding physical piece would be actually demolished by none other than the author himself!
Asked how he felt to be burning the works, Hirst said: “It feels good, better than I expected.”
The artist was wearing in silver metallic boiler-suit trousers and matching fire safety gloves as he collected each piece and burned it in a contained fire box.
It has been calculated the works being burned are collectively worth almost £10 million.
