Microsoft Blocks Other Browsers in Windows 11

News Tech

Microsoft has recently released Windows 11, and with it come a plethora of new features and tweaks designed to make user experience better. However, not all of the changes have the positive intended effect, as with Windows 11, Microsoft has made it more difficult for users to switch default browsers.

This isn’t the first time Microsoft has forced its users to use its in-house browser, Microsoft Edge, but with Windows 11, more functionality has been locked to the app, namely in search bar functions and the brand new widgets feature. To make matters worse, Microsoft has blocked the functionality of EdgeDeflector, a workaround created to bypass these restrictions.
