The world’s first AI ship known as the Mayflower 400 is being prepared for its first transatlantic voyage. The vessel is covered with solar panels and includes many detection tools to study marine pollution and track aquatic mammals.

An astounding 80 percent of the underwater world remains unexplored. The introduction of uncrewed scanning ships can allow for a greater understanding of the global climate and its effects on the sea.

The ship is set to embark on May 15 if weather and British authorities permit it. For more information about the maiden voyage, see this article on Yahoo News.
